 Real-Life Example of Minda Dentler

Second place is good, First place is better but Never give up is everything.

Minda Dentler

Minda Dentler was born in Mumbai and contracted with polio.  Due to this her hips & down portion of her body got paralyzed. Eventually, her own mother dumped her in an orphanage. By the time, she was adopted by one of the American family and she moved Spokane, Washington. After some time she went through a series of operations related to hips, legs, and back. Fortunately, she could walk with crutches and braces. Minda Dentler struggled a lot during her childhood and during her young age. People always looked at her with an annoying face because she always lived her life with a back brace and leg brace with chicken legs.  Which did not look pretty But she never gives up.

She could not play sports but was always active in volunteering and hospitality parts during her highschool. As we know,

God has a plan for everyone he created and none of his creations are meant to be purposeless. Every human being for that matter was brought forth with a specific and unique duty to uptake while he lives on earth.

13th October 2012 she never forgot. Because she was in the battle of Ironman  Championship. Struggling with muscles burning, tiredness, and dehydration.  When she reached the top 15miles climb (24.14km) she was discouraged. Because she needs to complete a swim marathon (3.86Km) within a time limit, but she was 2 hours off the pace from other participants. Eventually, she took the decision to quit. She began crying in front of her husband (Shawn) and best friend (Shannon). Her dream of completing the Ironman  Championship was broked up. She was worried about her friends, family, and people's thoughts on failure.

 2nd Breakthrough of her life

After that disaster, she again teamed with her best friend Shannon. She said, "Minda, Big dreams and goals can only be realized when you are ready to fail."  After hearing this line Minda was energized with full energy and said "This is not the first time I had faced stoppable odds."

After that in 2013 again she went into that championship with preparations and again she struggled with muscle burn, tiredness, and dehydration. But this time she was mentally prepared. Suddenly an internal voice came.

"This hurts. Quit." And I told myself, "Minda, you better focus. Focus on what you can control, and that is your attitude and your effort." I resolved to be OK being uncomfortable, and I told myself, "Push harder, forget about the pain, and keep that laser focus.

Finally, Minda Dentler completed her  Ironman  Championship in 14 hours and 39 minutes. first time in the 35-year history, a female wheelchair athlete completed the Ironman World Championship.
